What the doctor didn;t tell you is that Chiropractors in many states only need as little as 100 hours of training to “use” acupuncture needles, whereas licensed acupuncturists have several thousand hours of training including national baord examinations. Hmmmmmm….

Agreed. To become a licensed acupuncturist one must obtain a degree solely on the basis of acupuncture. Thousands of hours of clinical experience and class room instruction is required to get a general understanding of acupuncture.
Not to speak badly about “Certified acupuncturists” but most doctors, chiropractors, etc take the 100 hour course in order to cash into the popular trend of acupuncture.

hmm the way he placed LI20 and ying tang looks not right. He just tapped the needle perpendicularly which is not a right way of inseting for those points.

Never trust a ‘certified’ acupuncturist (D.C., M.D. or other) as they only receive a minimal amount(100-300 hours) of training and are essentially “cashing in” on the acupuncture bandwagon. A ‘LICENSED’ acupuncturist is a fully trained practitioner of oriental medicine and acupuncture, having studied over 4000 hours of theory plus extensive clinical training. Anyone other than a ‘licensed’ acupuncturist is practicing acupuncture with virtually no theoretical or practical knowledge. I’m LICENSED

he can’t be blamed…he has essentially NO training.

ic ic. now those people who received the treatment form certified acupuncturists will tell other pepople that acupuncture doesnt work!! Inserting needles like that will never work..

it’s more a matter of ethics and morals concerning rights of professional practice. would i really like to take a 300 hr. course and call myself a chiropractor?? respect should be granted to those who have taken the time and effort to pursue a particular career path and have received professional license.

This guy does not even sound like he is fully aware. The points inserted on the face were not accurate. I am an acupuncture student and I can tell that the points were inaccurate. Imagine an acupuncturist doctor. Please don’t listen to him. I would rather be seen by someone who has 3,500-4,000 hours of experience and training than someone who is just nice.

This guy is a quack! He contridicts himself, first he says it is exactly the same then he says it is similar.QUACK QUACK QUACK!I would be embarrassed if i were him to post this video! But then again he is not aware he is a bad certified acupuncturist because he doesnt have the proper training to know better.Stick with a real acupuncturist we know what we are doing. I would never give my patients a chiro adjustment, just like them w/acupunture, I havent had the proper training.Respect us please.

PLEASE only go to a nationally licensed acupuncturist. 100 hrs just don’t cut it. There needs to be legislation to remove these sham physicians and chiropractors that are debasing the results and excellence of a professional that truly requires years of experience. They have no diagnostic or traditional Chinese pathology coursework let alone the clinical experience needed to treat your whole being in a way that you deserve

Hey, if people like it so be it. Become one

I know of a few chiropractors who attended my acupuncture school in California that would laugh at the idea of mind-body-spirit medicine when it got brought up in class, let alone understand the concept of Qi or care to. Their left-brained training only allows them to be able to grasp a fraction of the medicine, which is highly intuitive.

Just as others have stated, most of these people are looking to expand their patient base and cash in, especially as the effectiveness of chiropractic efficacy has been questioned in recent years with studies that show it to be secondary at best to real, effective musculoskeletal manipulation as found amongst physical therapist.

These guys should stick to messing up people’s necks and backs and not messing up people’s opinion about or experience with our medicine, giving poor information, technique and diagnosing protocols. Not to mention the creepy, salesman bed side manner- not very therapeutic at all. Superior Ancient Chinese Medical doctors are turning over in the graves right now with this guy’s video. Only 100 hours, an 8.5 x 11 certificate, a lab coat and you’re an acupuncturist? PLEASE!

I’m not licensed but will be happy to practice on anyone for a low fee of 100.00 per session o.o

do those needles hurt

This guy is Amazing i want to know more!

the needles do not hurt, they create a heat sensation after 15 to 30 minutes because the puncture of the actual muscle causes them to completley release tension. though i have had it on my back not my face haha

How can Expert Village allow this DC to do a video as if he is an expert in acupuncture? I can’t begin to tell you how many patients I see after my chiropractic colleagues treat them. You need more than trust to select a qualified acupuncturist. They need training! There is no substitute for training. A folk 100 hours is not training. Would you go to any healthcare provider who took 4-5 weekends of seminars and professed to be an expert? Expert Village- shame on you.
